Europe as seen by citizens

The European Union was funded on values of respect for human dignity, liberty, democracy and equality and yet, poverty, discrimination, social exclusion, inequalities at work, healthcare disparities are still part of many European citizens’ everyday life.
Should Europe play a more active role regarding social matters? How should Europe better respond to social needs?  What should a “European social model” be like?
As a European citizen, you have your voice in the debate on social Europe. That is why, together with 7 European associations and NGOs from 7 different EU countries (Belgium, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Rumania, Spain) ANCE is carrying out a European citizen’s consultation on the theme:

“Social Europe as seen by European citizens: what tools to fight against inequalities and social exclusion?”

We invite you to participate in March 2010 in our on-line citizen’s consultation at www.citizen-for-europe.eu. Visiting our website will give you a unique opportunity to learn more about EU’s action on social matters and your rights as a European citizen and to voice your opinion on social Europe.
What is more, as a participant in our consultation, you might be selected to join our national panel taking place in April in Athens and our transnational panel taking place in May in Malaga. These panels are meant to give participants an opportunity to express their opinion and to take active role in the debate on social Europe along with other citizens and professionals. Participants in these panels will work together in order to draw a European citizen manifesto, containing policy recommendations for European institutions.

VOICE YOUR OPINION ON SOCIAL EUROPE!
